‘You may be stopped’: Creme Eggs might be the reason you can’t board your plane

Passengers jetting off for Easter have been warned not to take Cadbury Creme Eggs in their hand luggage – as they may breach security rules.

Airports allow travellers to carry several containers of liquids onto planes, as long as they are not more than 100ml each.

But baffling guidance suggests Creme Eggs could be confiscated at security checkpoints due to their liquid centres – even though they weigh just 40g each.

Each airport sets its own guidelines, meaning travellers face an Easter Egg roulette this weekend. Heathrow told passengers not to take Creme Eggs in hand luggage as ‘you very well may be stopped during security checks’.
