The Bears divorce from Chase Claypool is complete.
The Bears traded the disgruntled receiver to the Dolphins on Friday morning.
The Bears included a 2025 seventh-round pick in the deal and will get back a 2025 sixth-rounder from the Dolphins, The Athletic reported.
Claypool has been a healthy scratch the past two weeks after questioning his role in the Bears offense.
“You’re always disappointed in this situation and it’s definitely something I take ownership of…,” GM Ryan Poles told ESPN 1000 of Claypool before the Bears got their first win of the season on Thursday night against the Commanders.
“Unfortunately, it didn’t work out and we were hoping for him to be a little bit more productive and be someone that could help us take it to the next level. I wish him luck.”
The Bears traded a second-round pick to the Steelers last season for Claypool in what will go down in a monumental mistake for Poles.
Claypool now joins a high-powered Dolphins offense and will play behind stars Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.
