OSSC Odisha JE (Civil) main written exam 2022 cancelled

BHUBANESWAR: The Odisha Staff Selection Commission (OSSC) on Sunday decided to cancel the main written examination for JE (Civil) conducted on July 16 as a part of Combined Technical Services Recruitment Examination 2022 on the basis of a report of Balasore SP regarding leak of question paper of the examination.

“A fresh main written examination for JE (Civil) will be conducted on September 3 this year. The Commission sincerely regrets the inconvenience caused to the candidates,” said an official notice of OSSC issued on Sunday.
On July 16, Balasore police had unearthed an interstate job fraud racket by arresting nine persons, including a woman, who collected lakhs of rupees from several BTech graduates by promising them appointment in government departments.

The accused claimed to have got question papers of some competitive examinations for Group-B and C posts conducted by different government recruiting agencies in the state and Centre. On July 15, the accused took more than 80 job aspirants, most of them BTech graduates, to the Digha hotel in several vehicles and assured them to distribute the question papers.
After a detailed investigation, Balasore SP Sagarika Nath said, they found that some examinees had received the question paper of the JE (Civil) Main written examination conducted on July 16. “The Odia people who were arrested on July 16 were working as middlemen. The entire plan was executed by a person from another state. Some of the accused were also involved in similar cases in Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Delhi,” she added.
She said the accused have confessed before the police that they demand Rs 8 lakh-Rs 10 lakh from a candidate.
Several aspirants, who appeared for the JE (Civil) Main written examination, have been staging protests in front of the OSSC office for cancellation of the examination.
