Shire of Murray announces Groundswell to run Pinjarra’s historic Edenvale Homestead

The owners of a popular Mandurah cafe are set to bring a “fine-dining twist” to Pinjarra’s historic Edenvale Heritage Precinct.

Groundswell, run by Lynne Gould with her son Purri and his wife Steph, will take the reins of the 135-year-old homestead after the Shire of Murray’s “competitive” expression of interest process to find a new operator.

The Goulds opened a cafe and drive-through in Mandurah in 2018, followed by a second venue in Stake Hill in 2023.

Lynne said they were excited to bring classic Australian fare with a fine-dining twist to Pinjarra.

“From brunches, to high teas and casual dining, we will have something for everyone at Edenvale,” she said.

“We will also be hosting ticketed events for the community to enjoy this space.

“With a large focus on using local produce, we aim to reflect the story of Edenvale throughout our menu. We look forward to reigniting the precinct with a strong sense of community and local pride.”

Shire president David Bolt said they were impressed with Groundswell’s business success in the Peel region, and their plan for the homestead to focus on local produce.

“The Edenvale Heritage Precinct is an iconic and multi-award-winning venue for Pinjarra – a cultural landmark renowned for its rich history, arts, events and striking built landscape,” he said.

“Council was pleased to see that the Groundswell team shares the same values for Edenvale. To create a fantastic local destination venue, all while maintaining the rich history and heritage of the location.

“We are thrilled to see what’s to come for the next chapter of Edenvale.”

The homestead is expected to reopen this month and the precinct is also home to a vintage machinery museum, art gallery, craft shop, art school, quilter’s shop and historical society.
