One of those is How To Train Your Dragon – and new images have revealed what to expect.

Called the Isle of Berk, guests will be greeted by a huge water lagoon with 40ft Viking statues.

Inside will be four attractions.

Hiccup’s Wing Gliders is a family coaster, where guests will travel on a winged flying machine alongside Hiccup and Toothless.

On the Fyre Drill, guests can fire water cannons at targets while on a dragon boat, with other rides including Dragon Racer’s Rally and a Biking Training Camp.

There will also be a live show – The Untrainable Dragon – which is inspired by the Untrainable show in Universal Beijing.

Other events include a meet and greets with the characters, including the dragons.

Food stores include the Mead Hall and Spit Fyre Grill, along with the grog & Gruel snack shop.

Merchandise will be found at shops including Viking Traders, Hiccups Work Shop and Toothless’ Treasures.

The website says: “Explore a vibrant world where raucous Vikings and rambunctious dragons live together in hilarious harmony – based on the wildly popular How to Train Your Dragon film franchise.”

Other lands at the new Epic Universe, first announced back in 2019, include Super Mario, Harry Potter and Dark Universe.

The theme park explains: “As soon as guests enter the imaginative world, they’ll embark on a journey of discovery, thrills and excitement as they wander through lush living gardens nestled along shimmering waters surrounded by stunning architecture inspired by astronomical and mythological elements.”

Inside will be more than 50 attractions, themed restaurants as well as a 500-room hotel on-site, the Universal Helios Grand Hotel in Celestial Park.

The Wizarding World of Harry Potter will be 1920s Paris themed, seen in the the Fantastic Beasts series, as well as have inspiration from the iconic Ministry of Magic.

Super Nintendo World will have characters including Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach and Donkey Kong.

And Dr Victoria Frankenstein’s experiments can be seen in the Dark Universe land.

All of the land will be accessed via ‘portals’ from the central land Celestial Park, the “heart” of Epic Universe.

This will have its own rides and attractions, including the dual-launched rollercoaster Starfall Racers and the spinning Constellation Carousel, along with a wet=play area and restaurants.

An official opening date is yet to be revealed – although is expected to be in summer 2025 – nor have ticket prices.

Theme Park Tips

  1. Go to the back of the theme park first. Rides at the front will have the longest queues as soon as it opens.
  2. Go on water rides in the middle of the day in the summer – this will cool you off when the sun is at its hottest.
  3. Download the park’s app to track which rides have the shortest queues.
  4. Visit on your birthday, as some parks give out “birthday badges” that can get you freebies.
  5. If it rains, contact the park. Depending on how much it rained, you may get a free ticket to return.
