NEW DELHI: South Asian University has commenced its online admission process for the upcoming academic session 2024-25, offering programs ranging from Bachelor’s to PhD. President of the university, Prof. K. K. Aggarwal, unveiled the admission brochure at a ceremony held at the Foreign Correspondents’ Club in New Delhi today. Among the highlights, the university introduces four new programmes in the Department of Computer Science, including BTech, Dual Degree (BTech+MTech), MTech, and integrated MSc+MTech.
The diverse array of programmes spans disciplines such as Economics, Biotechnology, International Relations, and Sociology, with entrance tests scheduled for April 20th & 21st, 2024. Conducted in a computer-based format with multiple-choice questions, the entrance tests will occur simultaneously across designated centers in South Asia.
While the entrance test remains mandatory for most programs, certain categories of candidates are eligible for direct admission based on criteria including JEE, GATE, and JRF scores, along with their academic profiles. Scholarships and financial aid opportunities, including specially-created visas, are available for deserving students on merit and merit-cum-means basis.
As a unique institution jointly established by the governments of the eight SAARC nations, South Asian University maintains a diverse student body, with approximately half of its students hailing from India and the remainder from other SAARC countries. The university’s admission policy ensures equitable representation, with remaining seats filled by students from other SAARC nations as per SAU rules.
